(1) What is "External
localization of headphones"?
|
|

Picture1-1
A dog is yelping on the right forward.
|
People
can determine sound direction by sensing a little difference of sounds.
(Picture1-1)
|
|
Well,
let's record a dog's yelp in order to hear it slightly louder on the right.
(1) Modulate louder on the right.
(2) Modulate lower on the left.
This is the same as an usual
recording method. Let's try listening to this sound!
A dog is yelping on a little left
side in your head. The sound cannot locate in the out of your head even a
dog is in any directions or distances.(Picture1-2)

A dog is around here.

Picture1-3
You can sense the sound from
outside of your head.
|
But
Arnis's technology can release the sound from the inside of your head.

(2) What is "External
localization of speakers"?

Please
imagine that you are watching TV.
There are three persons in the
television, they are standing in line.(Picture2-1)
|
|
The
center one is focused on and they are having a conversation.
You can naturally hear their voice
from speakers of the television as shown in Picture2-2.
|

Picture2-2
Hi, Hello, How do you do?
|

Picture2-3
Hi, Hello, How do you do?
|
But
you surely catch their voice like Picture2-3 indeed.
Thus, like this, Arnis's
Technology let you be able to hear from where there are no speakers.

(3) What kind of devices are
required?
|
top of page
|
|
You
can enjoy Arnis's Next-Generation Spatial Acoustic Sound through two ways.
One is, to listen to the sound contents that have
already been edited under Next-Generation Spatial Acoustic Sound Technology. No
any devices are required in this way.
You
can use your own stereo headphone or stereo speakers.
Sound
sources can be available in the page of "enjoy ARNIS sound".
The other is, to use an audio
player in which Arnis's sound technology is embedded. You can enjoy any
sound sources through this as Next-Generation Spatial Acoustic Sound.
In the near future, we are sure to
produce such dreamy items.
Please
look forward to our new products appearing.

(4) What is "Binaural
recording method"?
|
top of page
|
|
A
binaural recording method uses a dummy-head which was made to be like a human
head shape where microphones are embedded inside of the ears.
When we listen to the sound
recorded through a dummy-head, the sound can be heard at the outside of
our ears.
But, as this way limits sound positions or sound directions at recording, they cannot be changed later.
We (Arnis Sound Technologies) can let
you hear sounds at the outside of headphones or speakers by processing the
sounds recorded through ordinary method.

(5) What is "Fixed point
DSP"?
|
top of page
|
|
It
is a low-priced, small and low-electric-power device.
It
had been quite difficult and hard to create 3-D acoustic sounds using such
processors.
We (Arnis Sound Technologies) have
made it possible to create 3-D acoustic sounds though fixed point DSPs'
calculation ability that requires comparatively low accuracy.

(6) What is "Real-time
processing"?
|
top of page
|
|
For
example, how do you take it that if it takes 10 minutes to process 3
minutes' sound into 3-D acoustic sound?
Therefore,
you will not manage to listen using your CD players as usual, since it
takes too much time.
However, the real-time processing
is to calculate in a shorter time than an actual time.
For
example, you can see some sound effects switches on your CD players or
stereo system. They use DSPs.
So many ways of processing or
calculations had been required to create 3-D acoustic sound for a long
time.
Our
technology has made it possible to calculate and create 3-D acoustic sounds
shorter than a length of an actual time.

(7) What is "Embedded
system"?
|
top of page
|
|
It
is to embed something parts in devices.
If
we can enjoy 3-D acoustic sounds only by using small and low-priced embedded fixed point DSPs...
Let's try to find and create
enjoyable way of use.

(8) About sounds from the front by
headphone
|
top of page
|
|
As you know, headphones cover our ears.
That is to say that headphones make you listen to sounds by only ears.
Someone may say that "Sounds are always heard from the outside of us and we feel them by our ears."
When we feel sounds, we feel not only by ears but also by vibrations of our bones and skins, senses of sights, perceptions or surroundings using many of our senses.
It will be unnatural sounds when sounds move around if sounds from the front are reproduced only on information from our ears.
Arnis Sound Technologies thinks that it is more important for us to listen to natural sounds than to adhere to unnatural sounds from the front.
Though we can provide sounds from the front, they may not be clear as we produce them not to be unnatural sounds.
